CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. – In a major win for the heart of South Carolina, Homanit, a leading European manufacturer of wood-based materials, has announced plans to establish its first U.S. manufacturing operation in Clarendon County. The $250 million investment, representing Clarendon County’s largest announcement in two decades, is expected to create 300 new jobs.
Homanit, based in Germany, produces medium- and high-density fiberboards used in furniture, automotive components, doors and industrial coatings. With production facilities already located in Germany, Lithuania and Poland, the company’s expansion into South Carolina marks a strategic move to better serve its U.S. customer base.
