County Public School Districts
Clarendon County School District One
Clarendon County School District Two
Clarendon County School District Three
Clarendon County’s
public education opportunities include three
public school districts. Clarendon District
I is located in the Town of Summerton; Clarendon
District II is located in Manning; and Clarendon
District III serves the residents of the Turbeville
area. Combined, the three districts operate
14 schools with students having access to
outstanding teachers, state-of-the-art technology,
and the necessary resources and facilities
to excel. All three districts have programs
for exceptional children, schoolwide Title
I programs that allow for accelerated instruction,
careeer awareness in grades K-12, applied
academic classes, and computer and internet
access in every classroom. Many high school
students in the 11th and 12th grades have
opportunities to attend classes at the F.E.
DuBose Career Center of Central Carolina Technical
College. The courses help provide these students
with career counseling, and workforce training
for entry into the workplace after graduation.
The DuBose Center currently offers 16 different
courses for approximately 600 high school
students in the workforce and career training
program.
Clarendon County
K-12 Private Schools Clarendon County residents
also have access to two private schools. Clarendon
Hall, a co-educational day school offering
academic instruction in kindergarten through
grade twelve, is an educational institution
fully accredited by the South Carolina Independent
School Association (also known as SCISA).
While Clarendon Hall is a parochial school,
operated, supervised, and principally controlled
by Calvary Baptist Church of Pinewood, its
management is vested in a semi-self-perpetuating
Board of Trustees. The Board, the student
body, and the faculty have been drawn from
all denominations. Clarendon Hall depends
solely upon tuition and gifts received from
individuals who are interested in the continuing
growth of education through our state and
nation. Laurence Manning Academy has a total
enrollment of 673 and also offers instruction
for grades K-12. The academy is located in
the Town of Manning and is a non-religious
institution.
