MUSC Children's
Hospital, a 128-bed, modern, state-of-the-art
facility planned, designed, equipped and staffed
with children in mind, provides comprehensive
services for children from birth to 18 years
of age. Pediatric specialists in nearly every
discipline ensure that every child receives
the most effective age specific care.Individualized
pediatric teams can be created instantly by
combining the expertise of diversely trained
staff pediatricians. In addition, Children's
Hospital has one of the few Level III Neonatal
Intensive Care Units in the state. The Pediatric
Intensive Care Unit is staffed exclusively
by trained pediatric critical care teams.
The hospital is home to the South Carolina
Children's Heart Center, an adjunct of the
MUSC Heart & Vascular Center. MUSC’s
Institute of Psychiatry provides the most
thorough, state-of-the-art care available
for a full range of psychiatric problems.
Patients benefit from the attention of nationally
recognized psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses,
social workers, psychologists, and researchers
working together to provide care and emphasizing

diagnostic capabilities and care. Within this
hospital, the Palmetto Pavilion is a floor
