The Clarendon County Development Board was
created to assist existing industry and help
recruit new industry to the area in an effort
to help improve the overalll quality of life
for the residents of the County.
The Development
Board works closely with out existing industry
to ensure that they have all of the necessary
support from local, state, and federal officials
to operate efficiently in an pro-business
environment. Maintaining the success of our
existing industry is paramount in our economic
development efforts as we help our existing
companies grow and propser – creating
more jobs and higher wages for our citizens.
Our recruitment
of new industry is also an important facet
of our overal marketing plan to improve the
standard of living for our residents. Several
companies have located in Clarendon County
over the past several years and have found
our residents to be among the best workers
found anywhere. In cooperation with regional
and state officials, our recruitment of new
industry looks to improve the quality of life
for our residents by locating companies, both
large and small, that are good corporate citizens,
and who offer good wages and benefits for
a hard days work.
Our access
to Interstate 95, the Port of Charlestion,
CSX rail, and three commercial airports, along
with being in a right-to-work state provide
companies both large and small with opportunities
to succeed.
