Freeman Millwork expands to new facility in Clarendon County
Clarendon County Industrial Park receives World Class, Homegrown Company
MANNING, SC ¾ Freeman Millwork Company, Inc., Clarendon County’s oldest manufacturer, announced today an expansion to a new facility in the Clarendon County Industrial Park. The company will occupy an existing 52,084 square foot building formerly owned by Persona. Freeman will move their headquarters and manufacturing operation to the new facility. Freeman Millwork has been in continuous operation since 1947 and fabricates wood doors, windows and other millwork products as well as being a wholesale distributor of other building products. They currently employ 33 people and will add 8-10 new jobs within the next two years. Freeman plans to move their corporate offices and be operational in the new facility before December 31, 2005.
Mr. Arthur M. Felder, President of Freeman Millwork YSC said, “The future looks bright for our company. A new facility coupled with our dedicated workforce will carry us to a new level of business in the coming years.

"Freeman Millwork began operations in a facility that was an ammunition box factory during WWII. Tom Freeman and Bob Smith began operation as Freeman Millwork Company in 1947. At Bob Smith’s death in 1978, Van Brewer assumed Presidency and under his leadership the company prospered until his retirement in September 2005 at which time Arthur M. Felder became President.
